Learn to Row

About: The Learn to Row Course is a 3-session program for adults with little to no prior rowing experience that covers the fundamentals of sculling.  Participants learn the basic skills including boat handling, the stroke, safety, and participate in on-water rowing.

Learn to Row Courses are offered several times during the rowing season.  Participants that complete this course successfully are provided an additional 3 Guest Rows with the coached Master’s program.

FAQ:

  • Learn to Row is a 3-day coached course

  • Cost is $125 for the 3-session course with complementary 3 guest rows for Master’s sessions for graduates

  • Clam Island Rowing Membership is not required to participate

  • UsRowing Membership and waiver required ($10 Learn to Row or higher)

  • Learn to Row participants should be able to sign a swim attestation form, lift up to 35 pounds overhead, and be able to squat to get into the rowing shell via a water launch.
